How does a beef cattle industry develop from genetic improvement to practical farm production?
On August 5, 2026, Bellaex accompanied a Brazilian livestock delegation to Tongliao, Inner Mongolia, for an in-depth exploration of China’s beef cattle industry.
Following the dairy farming visit in Hebei, this part of the journey focused on another important sector of livestock production: beef cattle breeding, market circulation, commercial farming, and animal nutrition applications.
Through continuous communication and coordination with local partners, Bellaex helped create opportunities for the delegation to access different stages of the beef cattle industry, allowing them to understand not only individual enterprises, but also how different parts of the industry connect together.
Located in Inner Mongolia, Tongliao is one of China’s important beef cattle production regions, with a strong foundation in cattle breeding, large-scale farming, and livestock trading.
The region has developed a relatively complete industry chain covering:
High-quality cattle breeds, including Simmental cattle, are widely used in beef cattle production, while breeding technologies continue to support improvements in cattle performance and production efficiency.
For the Brazilian delegation, Tongliao provided an opportunity to observe how China’s beef cattle industry operates from upstream genetics to downstream farming applications.
The first part of the visit focused on the upstream foundation of the beef cattle industry: breeding and genetics.
At Kerchin Beef Cattle Breeding Industry, the delegation learned about modern beef cattle breeding practices, including:
Genetics determines the production potential of future herds. Through continuous selection and improvement, breeding programs help farmers develop cattle with better production performance and adaptability.
By visiting the breeding side of the industry, the Brazilian delegation gained insight into how China approaches long-term beef cattle development from the genetic level.
After learning about breeding, the delegation continued to explore another important part of the industry: cattle circulation and market connection.
Through the visit to Ihuta Cattle Market, the delegation observed a real livestock trading environment where farmers, buyers, and brokers connect cattle production with market demand.
Compared with breeding enterprises that focus on long-term genetic improvement, the cattle market represents the practical connection between production and commercial value.
This experience helped the delegation understand how cattle move through the industry chain after leaving the breeding stage.
To further understand how cattle are managed in daily production, Bellaex also coordinated a visit to a private beef cattle farm.
Unlike a standardized enterprise visit, a private farm provided the delegation with a closer look at practical cattle management.
During the visit, the delegation had the opportunity to get close to the cattle, observe the animals directly, and communicate with the farm owner about daily operation and farming practices.
This experience allowed the delegation to see how breeding resources, market conditions, and farm management come together in real production environments.
A complete beef cattle industry does not end with breeding and farming. Nutrition management is another important factor influencing cattle growth and production efficiency.
During the industry exchange, Bellaex also shared its understanding of how feed processing technology supports modern livestock production.
For beef cattle, grain-based feed ingredients play an important role in energy supply. Processing methods can influence how effectively cattle utilize feed nutrients.
Steam-flaked corn is one example of how feed processing technology can support cattle nutrition. Through steam treatment and flaking, corn can achieve improved starch availability and become a valuable energy source in cattle feeding programs.
As a company focused on feed processing solutions, Bellaex continues to connect equipment technology with real livestock production needs, helping customers better understand how processing solutions fit into the complete animal production system.
For Bellaex, this visit was not simply a tour of several locations.
By coordinating with breeding enterprises, livestock markets, and local farms, Bellaex created an opportunity for international livestock professionals to experience different stages of China’s beef cattle industry in one integrated journey.
China and Brazil both have strong livestock industries, but differences exist in production environments, feed resources, and farming models.
Through direct visits and face-to-face discussions, professionals from different countries can exchange practical experiences and gain a deeper understanding of various approaches to livestock production.
Bellaex will continue working as a bridge connecting global livestock industries, helping customers explore real production environments and identify suitable solutions for their future development.
