If the material you want to process is not one of the more common grains or oilseeds, such as corn or soybeans, it may be difficult to find comparable trial photos or reference results that show what your own material will look like after cracking.
In that case, rather than judging from the material name or photos alone, testing the actual sample is often a more direct and reliable way to see the result.
Recently, customers sent us coffee beans and fish feed pellets to see how their materials would respond in a Bellaex cracking mill.
Once the samples arrived, we arranged cracking trials and recorded the before-and-after changes.
Coffee Bean Sample Trial
The first sample was coffee beans supplied by a customer.
After receiving the material, we checked the sample and carried out a cracking trial with a Bellaex cracking mill.
The supplied sample consisted of whole coffee beans before the test.
After cracking, the beans were broken into smaller pieces of different visible sizes.
From the trial feedback at the time, the cracked sample met the customer's expectations for this test.
Fish Feed Pellet Sample Trial
Another customer sent us fish feed pellets for a sample cracking test.
Rather than judging the material only from its name, we tested the customer's own sample.
The before-and-after photos make the change easy to see.
The original whole pellets were broken into smaller particles and pieces after the trial.

Why Test the Actual Material?
Generally, even materials with the same name can arrive in different conditions from one customer to another.
Feed size, hardness, moisture, and the result you want to achieve can all affect how a material behaves during cracking.
So if your material is unusual, we do not want to give you a simple “yes” or “no” based only on its name.
A more responsible approach is to first understand your material and your processing target.
If photos and basic information are not enough to make a useful judgement, a sample trial can give us a much clearer reference.
You can first send us information about your material, photos and the result you want to achieve. If necessary, you can also send a sample to Bellaex, just like the customers in these two trials.
